Yesterday, the Dark Frontiers team held a very special Discord Town Hall, where the audience got to see exclusive trailers and new gameplay, got answers to some frequently asked questions, and had the chance to ask questions live! For everyone who missed out on the Town Hall, let’s recap everything that happened.

Cinematic Trailer and Gameplay

Perhaps the biggest highlight of the Town Hall was the unexpected showcase of Dark Frontiers’s cinematic trailer. While we know that everyone who wasn’t able to participate yesterday are eager to see it as well, we cannot release the trailer publicly just quite yet. Stay tuned for marketing campaign that will go along side it!

During the gameplay, viewers got to see an extensive preview of new features and locations in Dark Frontiers including: NFT crafting, a new PVP arena and PVP mode, puzzle mechanics, new areas and locations, and the first look at a Dark Frontiers Boss.

During the FAQ section of the Town Hall, the team answered some of your burning questions

What is the team currently working on?:

The team is currently QA testing, polishing, and fixing bugs found by QA testing. This is the not-so-glamorous part of game development, and during these times we didn’t have any new features or updates to share with the community besides “We’re polishing the game”.

When is the airdrop for Binance suit owners?:

They are planned for before the launch of the game. As for what owners will be getting, it has been mentioned before that it will be a random weapon from the set of new weapons we’ve made. Different tiers suits might get better tiers than others as well.

When will GS spacesuits go on sale and will Binance spacesuits lose their value after that?

Currently, we’re not focused on the GS Suits, this is something we will come back to post-launch as there are more important things at the moment.

Instead of the GS Suits, the team introduced the 6 standard suits (each with 3 tiers, so 18 suits in total). These you’ve already seen, they’re the blade, military, miner, gatherer, tank, and gas suits. They have however received some visual adjustments.

GS suits whenever they come out will not outperform the Binance suits game wise, so no they won’t lose value.

When is season 4?

We plan Season 4 to center around PVE, just like Seasons 1-3 centered around PVP, so at the moment, we can’t give a specific date. We’re currently doing a large batch QA testing, and the results of the QA will determine a lot for PVE Early Access dates.

Will there be a roadmap for 2025?

Naturally, once we’re finished here we will come out with a new roadmap for what’s to come next.

We’ve gotten quite a bit of questions regarding why the current roadmap wasn’t updated, and the reason is since the current roadmap was finished, the only remaining items were the aforementioned polishing, testing, and bug fixing. And we only include major items on the roadmap, not focusing on smaller additions.

When is testing and will there even be a release of the game this year?

As mentioned in a previous answer, we’re currently doing a large batch of QA testing, and the results of the QA will determine a lot for PVE Early Access dates.

Dark Frontiers will most likely work on the Gamechain chain from Gamestarter. Can you tell us more about this? What is the time frame for launching the game on this chain?

Not necessarily actually, and we’re still might go with another chain, but we’ll have more info about this at a later date

General Information

It’s important to remember, that Dark Frontiers is not a small game. It’s a massively multiplayer RPG with lots of different mechanics and features, far more than a Battle Royale, Auto chess, or Collectible card game. So it must be understood that these things take a lot more time to develop.

Game development itself takes time and care, and it’s not as simple as doubling the size of the team to double the speed of the release of the game.
