Overview

Based around newly discovered alien tech, the Cyclone uses a tightly focused central microwave beam to extract volatile gasses from porous materials. A parallel graviton tractor beam then draws the gasses released by the microwaves into the collector, where they are then filtered and pumped into removable pressure vessels.

Early attempts at using graviton technology on a portable scale suffered many setbacks. High power requirements and an inherent instability within graviton emission systems resulted in several hilariously tragic accidents in the early attempts at developing a “grav gun”. Authorities on Earth eventually banned all further production, as any prototype powerful enough to draw large objects towards it would be highly shock sensitive.

OreTek was the first company to develop a “safe” use of portable graviton technology. By operating within the legal grey zone of the moon and by using a highly focussed, low-powered graviton beam, they managed to either meet or avoid the legal safety requirements. The Cyclone Gas Extractor MKIII is safe to use, provided the user wears standard radiation protection, avoids any sharp impacts to the graviton emitting array, and does not point it at their face.
