Overview
The Alucard sampling tool is as effective as it is disconcerting. A modified dairy pump allows for rapid liquid extraction. Not for medical use.
With the discovery of the huge variety of genetic material produced, stored and accidentally released from long-dormant alien research facilities on the moon, the market for bulk biological samples developed practically overnight. Companies within the pharmaceutical, biotech and even defence industries immediately scaled up their R&D and analysis capacities. Organisms that could both survive and thrive for so long under adverse conditions promised not only to shed light on hitherto unknown aspects of biology, but also to reveal the greatest prize, immortality.
Fluitech Solutions were a small company that quickly spotted the potential in this new market and recognised the demand for rapidly available extraction techniques. Determined to seize a market share before other companies became entrenched, the advertising campaign actually preceded the first prototype by several weeks.
The Alucard Biofluid Sampler was quickly cobbled together from other ongoing Fluitech projects, including a milking pump and a fuel injector system. Extracted samples are stored in small canisters that can easily be removed and stored in a separate cryogenic container. The Alucard gained and retained market dominance through its surprising reliability and its focus on rapid extraction above the sanitary or ethical concerns that had been the hallmarks of pre-existing providers.
